Silvergate Bank Ceases Operations as Voluntary Liquidation Gets Underway. According to CoinTelegraph, Silvergate Capital announced Wednesday that it is ceasing operations and liquidating its bank due to recent “industry and regulatory developments.” After-hours trading also saw more than a 36% decline in shares. Bitcoin NFT Collection from Yuga Labs Generates $16.5 Million. Coindesk reported that Yuga Labs, the parent company of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, ended its TwelveFold auction on Monday, releasing the first collection of Bitcoin-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The 300 limited edition art pieces brought in 735.7 BTC (approximately $16.5 million).

Amazon is Launching an NFT Marketplace. Yesterday, Amazon announced that it is launching a new NFT marketplace on April 24th. The marketplace will initially offer 15 NFT collections that will only be available to US customers. For those interested in this new marketplace, it is important to note that NFTs can only be purchased through an Amazon account.

Mercedes Pro Driver Racing Experience. MercedesBenz reported the launch of the Mercedes' AMG experience program. This program is designed to offer customers and racing enthusiasts a unique opportunity to enjoy the speed and performance of the latest AMG vehicles in an exciting and safe environment. Held at numerous locations around the world, including well-known tracks such as the Circuit of the Americas, the AMG experience program offers a variety of track experiences.

In the US, 25% of New Automotive Purchases are Luxury Vehicles. According to recent research from Cox Automotive, up to 25% of new car sales in the United States are now luxury purchases by default, as reported by Luxury Daily. This is because the average MSRP ( manufacturer's suggested retail price) for new cars in the US is close to $50,000.

Saks Reports that Consumers Have an Appetite to Spend. The Saks Luxury Pulse survey results found that shoppers plan to continue spending on luxury goods over the next three months, with the majority of participants (62%) stating they will spend the same amount or more as in the previous three months. The reasons given by those who plan to spend more are that they are financially well off and are happy to spend luxury on travel and high-end clothing.
